Hi i want more power out of my XF dose anyone know what would be a good 6 cyl to transplant into it and then run a turbo setup.
I was thinking a 6 cyl from a EB or ED maybe. But a mate of mine said why dont i just buy a new XR6 turbo motor but i would think that would cost a fair amount to buy.

anyone got any ideas all are welcome

just throw a TO4E or something similar onto the 250 six.
Been done before, good results to be gained.

I've heard of someone in Vic. who's apparenty fitted a '92 Supra twin turbo straight six in to his/hers XF, all engineered and registered. Might be a idea as it'll prob be a better all round performing motor.

Red-i i had though of putting a supra motor or a RB (Skyline motor) motor in it also but i would rather keep it a ford motor i dont like the idea of having a ford that is quick but its powered by a toyota motor.

thanxs for the idea though.

also dose anyone know wether or not if i was to convert my motor from carb to EFI if it would be hard to run a turbo setup

Mate you can modify your existing 250. i have a Ford mag at home that has an article about a business that turbo charges early 250's (like XD/XE/XF) but i cant think of the name & issue.
The article covers both carb and turbo setups.

They also built some factory XF turbo 6's in very limited run u see em in Just Cars & unique cars on the occasion.

Not to mentain the XF modified ADR (?) twin turbo all wheel drive cars.

your on the right track with the EB/D donk, maybe go one further to the EF for 157kw's and a seriously quick XF with easy low 15's and you should get out of it for under $2K all up.

Go to performance forums and get in contact with a guy by the name of 6boost. He is the man when it comes to ford il6 turbo.
Wither mail hum or just search for his posts. He is also great with helping out with obtaining turbo parts cheap!! He has a ea 3.9 that makes way over 500 rwhp on pump fuel.

kieron i though that might be the way to go as then you have the overhead cam as i am pritty sure the 6 in my car still use's pushrods.
