Twin cam

Do you guys remember an old issue of Street Machine 2000 which had a guy developing a twin cam for the ford 6 and holden? Well i'm thinking he must be pretty pissed off now all his hard work was for nothing.

I belive the guy doing twin cam sixs does holden sixs and old ford sixs as well. If the Barra twincam is a heavily revised engine and thus incompatable with the AU or lower engines he still has a huge market. As big as ever.

I wasn't overly impressed by his twin cam head. Obviously a very talented machinist. But it wasn't on its own a great thing. If you got it fitted then spend ~$15,000 sorting it, you might get some decent power over a normal OHC head.

He should have gone the whole hog with multi valve design, improved combustion chamber, done some computer models so the flow rate would have been really good, big cams, etc. made it upgradeable to VCT, dizzyless, blah blah...

I read about that twincam setup for the Inline 6, for like $6000 they can put a twin cam head on existing 4.0L Inline engines.

But power is only 175kw, for 6k it ain't worth it.

For that much i'd be powerdyning my car and be getting a conservative 210kw+.
