Re: Unemployed bums

yeah I know what your saying Tripper.
I've never been out of a job for more than two weeks since I left school.
It's hard for some people to break the lazy cycle though.

Re: Unemployed bums

I been lookng for another job for months. No one realy wants to employ uni students who can only work certain days.
I also just had a 8 week holiday, and after talking to a heap of ppl, calling almost every ad in the friggen paper still had nothin. After 3 weeks i decided to just leave my holiday as a holiday, and bumbed around for the next 5 weeks (with the exception of a saturday-only job ive got). Maybe i was looking in the wrong places...

Re: Unemployed bums

Its not always easy to get another job straight away. It depends on the feild you are applying to.

After getting sick of rejection after rejection I changed the feild I was aiming for and couldnt be happier now, best boss you could ever find.

After losing my job from effects caused by 9/11, i was left high and dry. To make things worse being so close to xmas, nobody was hiring, then work got very slow, IT was still having its down-turn. I managed to survive on $400 for 3 months before having to stoop to the low of applying for the dole, on which i stayed for 6 months (unwillingly).

I tell ya what tho, I couldnt tell you a better way to learn how to manage your money and save than trying to live on $95 a week with a car to run and a mobile bill to pay.

After saying that, I know there are a lot of genuine 'bums' out there and they are milking us dry, but there are plenty of others who are really trying. I beleive you shouldnt just straight out say 'they are all unemployed bums' as you dont know all the situations involved.

Re: Unemployed bums

I got my new job through my old man, so I was lucky there.

MADXF - No joke hey, i'm getting $160 per fortnight now, my car repayments and ins. are more than that!! I've got loan protection & a big fat payout as well, so i'm lucky there.
