My g/f is making her way home in the rain, literally two streets away when this d*ckhead decides he's gonna make use of the left turn on red when clear rule. Thing is he neglects to factor in the "when clear". So he ends up in the passenger side of my car. The xr gets shunted sideways luckily with no other traffic in the lane across. The driver is 20 years old or so, driving with no licence on him (it's at home), recently just bought his Lancer, still paying off his previous accident he caused and on top of that uninsured. Yay me.
Needless to say my g/f gets out the car and abuses him to no end. Mentions something about his pedigree and his mother and a goat (!?!?) and then threatens to hunt him down and run him over if he doesn't get his licence details to her. His initial comments of "you're at fault" and my g/f's reply of "what? I hit the front of your car with my side ???" are drowned in her initial abuse at him.
Luckily the damage isn't too bad (i've taken pics as I always do when the car is damaged). Also his front end is smashed in pretty good. On saying that every car so far that's hit a falcon of mine has usually come off worse.
So it's off to the panel beaters sometime this week to get a quote and to experience the inconvenience of having a car for however long.
I'm almost thinking that after washing the car (for the AU site pics) and escaping the rain then that somehow i've now faced the fury of the rain gods....

What an absolute wanker. Good on your girlfriend!! Too bad she didn't give him one in the jaw. Freakin' young Lancer drivers thinking they're all that >:( And uninsured? What a complete ****ing idiot. I hope it costs the tool thousands to fix his shit box.

I feel for you, as i've had my car damaged due to some lowlife. Make sure you report the accident to the police at least so that your covered. I'm pretty sure in your case since it's the other drivers fault (and that you have his details) you'll be able to get it repaired excess free.
Anyways hope your insurance gets sorted and the repairs get sorted quickly.
Gary.

So sorry to hear about another AU getting nailed, it's just wrong. I think thats 2 in the last 24 hours!!!
Might have to start up a "Crashed" section the way this is going!!!!
It's a great rule, it's only that the rule was broken that an accident happened. It's like stopping at a red light - disobey it and bad things happen. Those intersections with those signs are supposed to only be where visibility is good. I don't blame the rule, I blame the driver!
Sorry to hear it happened - sucks for all the inconvenience and frustration :(
Hope it all gets sorted out ok, keep us updated.
Tim

How much boost?
The "insurance is too expensive mate" mental genius strikes again.
this happened to me 4 weeks ago ( NOT in my ESP otherwise his mother would have been lighting candles for him at her church ).
I was hit in my wife's car by an uninsured 19 Y.O brainiac who with hands in pockets of these oversized jeans that would fit an elephant proceeded to tell me "come on mate, take it easy, there ain't that much damage"
($1500 rear end damage to my car and his car was JUST driveable )
I took what details he gave me and like a good citizen, gave them to my Insurance company
only to find out 1 week later that there was no one by that name or address listed anywhere in the known Universe.......
My wife's car is fixed, but this Peter Brock of the suburban roadways is still out there somewhere thinking he's got away with it.
So I go to the cops to get some closure only to find out that The car rego belonged to a friggin caryard............work that one out.
This gets the cops fired up and real curious.....................Nothin worse than a bad tempered wild pig....................If they find this guy, I hope he does time and the next rear end that gets f****d is HIS.
I escaped the excess because technically I provided the Insurance company with all the details at hand at the time of the incident.
I feel for you loxxr6.............Hope your car gets repaired to your satisfaction.
