Unique Car Insurance / Insuring Modified Car - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Im chasing around for insurance for my EB, and there isnt really anyone in Perth that will insure it, due to the nature of the modifications.

I got a quote from Unique Car Insurance that Im happy with, but was wondering if anyone here has dealt with them, or has any comments / opinions on them.

Or, alternatively can anyone recommend anywhere that will insure a modified car without any dramas - my main problem is that I dont have any permits, certifications, or Emissions tests for the EB, and most companies require these to give insurnace.

Get a quote from Just Cars, they will insure you. I'm paying $1,400 pa for the car in my signature, i'm 21 rating 2.

ha! At least you can get insurance. I can't even get 3rd party fire & theft from places like just car for my XF. yeah I'm 19 blah blah blah, but they stereotype you when you have a loud car! Bastards!

Suncorp Metway is another option that is fairly comparable to just cars (although they seem to have lower excesses that just cars).

Im on 615 3rd part fire n theft. and some stupid high excess 1000 or something for a stock EB Fairmont.. mainly coz im 19 :)

Just Cars doesnt insure NT or WA btw

Ive used unique car insurance services on a number of my old cars. Never had a problem with them, and I never made a claim either. I don't use them at the moment, as I shop around with every car I own and get the best deal I can. I currently use Shannons.

I have found Shannons to be good. I have my Corty insured thru them and as I have one classic car with them I can and do insure my Ute with them as well. Just found them to be very understanding and real revheads themselves.

i couldnt get my ef xr8 insured at all except for nrma 10k to get it insured for 16k. Put it in dads name now. Was hoping for a new xr8 by the year end but now i got done speeding, plus the other night i hit a car up the bum done everything properly dad came down got details car went to a very repatable smash repairs (who dad has an account with) the next day then i get a call from the coppers saying this bloke called them said what happened and said hes worried but didnt say any more. I didnt want the insurance company to find out or the coppers as cars in dads name and under his insurance policy for work if i had to claim their insurance bill would go up 30% from *****. This bloke was told the bill would be covered by me i got the cash, and if i didnt dad would then he runs to the coppers. Now i will never get insurance because i became that 19yr old male statistic. The bloke at the smash repair knows me (not by experience) and said i shouldnt claim, and reccomended to the other bloke he shouldnt either, so now hes saying he is putting a claim throught. Now if it wasnt for this smash repairer being such good blokes Dad would be fu**ed for trying to help me out. They are not going to let the bill go to his insurance company ill be dropping the 4k cash off first thing on tuesday to cover his bill. Now i know i did wrong but there aint 4 grands worth of damage to the 98 corolla i hit up the arse, airbags didnt even go off. MY dammage is new front bar and rhs headlight assembly.
