What happens to all the AU's that are still brand new but never get sold?
Are they sent back to the factory to be stripped for parts or do they just sit on the lot until somebody buys them, or is it something totally different?
At my local dealer, they sit on the lot and get flogged off for whatever price. One example I saw was a white AUIII XR8 Rebel fully kitted and optioned (except sunroof) that's just got "FOR SALE" across the windscreen, no marked price.

yeah my dealer has a few left, a nice red Fairmont Ghia, but they are still quoting 50's for it. I cant believe that, as if anyones going to pay that for an Fairmont Ghia that is nearly a year old and is the old model.
One dealer is selling new AUIII Fairmonts with leather(AUIII option in Fairmont) for $33 000.

Have you seen a run-out sale of AUs at all? NO - that's because one of the largest fleet buyers in Oz bought most of the existing AU3 stock at ridiculous prices! Still, this will slow the slide of AU prices until they hit the 2nd hand market in 12-24 months.

They had a new AU3 XR8 at Gregorys until a couple of weeks ago just under $44000 drive away.
