In this months issue of Motor it says that the Ford 49 concept car is likely do go into production

, not sure when.

It also says that at the Detroit Motor Show in January it will show a concept car inspired by the awesome GT40, man how good would it be if they released a modern GT40.

yep, its tipped to have the new dohc 5 litre donk. I tink one of the earlier GT40s had a 289 with something like 290kw. And the other was the 427 cammer which saw the GT40 banned by beating all the euro makers. So this GT40 would have big boots to fill and would be the opponent to the corvette and viper. would have to be light with alot of power to keep up with the light weight fibreglass corvette and the house pulling torque of the 8litre viper donk.

In my opinion the GT40 which is now 35 yers old still look great an absolute classic.
Motor have something about the corvette going more ferrari in it power output, something about the corvette using some V12 out of a cadillac concept car. The funny thing is that it says the motor was developed by Cosworth (doesn't Ford own Cosworth). Imagine that a Ford powered Vette.

I have to say that I missed it completely, reading about it in Motor is the first I have heard of it.

Oh well since nobody has reponded to my post in the AV thread I'll put the specs uo again.

It's not confirmed yet but we may be getting a GT40 replica at the Ford Discovery Centre in the next few months. Fingers crossed.:thumbup:

Adam W: I read the v12 in a corvette. I think it would be stupid. The zo6 vette allready takes it upto every ferrari bar the f50. If they are having trouble extracting more power out of the ls6 then ill be damned. its got 302kw and im sure an extra 100kw would be easy enough. Enough out corvettes though, Im hanging out to see motors review of the PHR mustang cobra RA in decmeber/january.
