Ghostly early morning fog shrouded a stretch of I-75 near Ringgold in minutes Thursday. By the time it lifted, four people -- three from Georgia -- were dead, 39 were injured, more than 120 vehicles were smashed or crumpled like soft-drink cans, and much of northwest Georgia had been jolted by the largest single accident on a road in the state.

The pileup began just before 8 a.m. one mile north of Ringgold with four separate wrecks in a half-mile stretch, on both the northbound and south- bound sides of the interstate.

that happens a hell of a lot in america. what are they doing wrong?

They are driving on the wrong side of the road and their steering wheels are on the wrong side too!!

Yeah that was a big mess. It happen a hour North of me, still messed everything up. Everytime there is bad weather, people doing 75mph plus, people driving who shouldn't be. Add all those factors together, you end up with what happen here. BTW, our steering wheels and lanes are the correct way to drive.:s6: :oo1: :crazy1:

Something similar happened somewhere in Spain about two weeks ago, I can't understand why people don't slow down.
Its simple, heavy fog - cant see - slow down - still cant see but can stop quicker !
