Is there anyone on this board that may know, or have heard, what the name for the 2006 car Ford is going to produce for the US market that was known as the Futura before Pep Boys auto parts complained? The last I had heard was that the new name would be decided on this month, but I haven't heard anything about it since then.
Thank you.

Weren't they talking about calling it the "Four Hundred" after "Futura" got shitcanned?

It may be called Falcon. Looks like bad news, if they name it Falcon, they will probably kill our Falcon and ship that front-wheel drive Mazda 6 based shitbox here. If that happens.. I'll have to become a Nissan fan again and go get a 350Z.
It almost happened once b4 if u remember.
Aus manufacturing was to be closed and Falcon replaced with Taurus.
Ford America is run by nuts.
they do the 427 showcar with a V10 and rear wheel drive.
Then the production version has "styling elements of the 427" on a mazda 6 platform.
Well they are still trying to persue the Futura name, that's why details haven't been given as yet.
The Taurus was exported here to recoup the costly investment for its Japan importation, Ford's intentions of replacing the Falcon with it were very minimal at the time. FoA management spoke openly about the car before launch to journalists and stated that it was a car for those who would not typically consider Falcon - and they were right.
