Anyone tryed the XBOX version on V8 Supercars ?? Like the PS2 version, not too acurate you can still easily pull 320 odd down conrod stuff like that, but its just good fun i reckon !
I have the PC Demo (You can download it from the Australian Codemasters Site) it has 2 laps of Adelaide.
From watching the real thing the other weekend, and listening to the commentators, the only thing out of whack are the speeds. Strange thing though is that all the gearchanges and what gear you're in a what part of the track is bang on.
2nd gear through the first part of the track is correct, change to 6th just before the little bend on the back straight is correct too, but you reach around 280 instead of 240ish like the real thing. 2nd gear through the hairpin at the end of the straight is fine, and you hit the limiter in 4th just before the final hairpin onto the start/finish straight which is also correct.
Only a couple of other gripes -
1) Computer opponents rarely (If ever) let you through, even if you clearly have right of way
2) They also leave tyre smoke all around the track from lock ups
3) Stuff falls off the car too easily too. How many times have you seen the rear wing fall off a car from giving it a gentle tap in the rear bumper?
Apart from these small problems, I love it! Can't wait to buy it... And a wheel and pedal set!
Was just reading a thread on the codemasters forum about this game and it gets a severe caining from most of the serious gamers on that site.
I am downloading the demo on dialup which i know is crazy and i probably won't get the entire program before being dropped offline by Telstra but i need to see it before i buy.
Can someone possibly send me the entire demo to me? Or will i have the same problem?
I was listening to the radio and some review of the game came on.. THe dude said the graphics of the xbox version were about twice as good and it played a little better.
Basically just said its the same game with a bit more 'grunt'
I've got an xbox so i might hire it out, see what its like.
Ford Fanatic, i tried to download it over night but when i went to the pc this morning it had been (connection) disconected. There was a mesage saying that the server had been reset. I think Telstra boots me off every 4hrs. What is the reason for this is?

That's part of their policy... if you read it, you'll see that there is a 4hr session timeout, and usually a 10-15min idle disconnect (which doesn't always work).
Stops people being online 24/7, and holding up all the lines, and remember, chances are Telstra makes 25c everytime you make a call...
