Does anyone know of a company that will come out to you or that you can take your car to, to get an accurate valuation on it? I have found lots of online valuation websites like redbook etc. But can't find a place that actually comes to look at a car (I need to organise this for finance). The finance place suggested RACV but they only do vehicle inspections not valuations. Must be in Victoria.
Try Shannons or Vigil - as they specialise in classic cars and modifieds, they also use vehicle valuers. They should be able to tell you who they use in Victoria.

i thought any quality car yard would do a valuation?
apparently they don't do them anymore because of legal issues. i.e. if you can't make your loan repayments and the finance company repossess your car and they can't sell it for the amount that the car was valued at, then the caryard that valued it at that amount can get themself into trouble.
Simply ask the finance company who they recommend, if they can't tell you, then ask them how on earth you're supposed to find anyone and to contact you when they do know. If they are used to getting vehicle valuations, they'll be able to tell you who the previous ten million customers have used.

Too bad it didn't work like that. They weren't able to tell me anyone that does vehicle valuations, it was just a recommendation by them. They tried to find out for me but couldn't tell me anything. So they said if you can't get a valuation then you won't be able to buy that car for that price...
