Bert, I always believed the new tires should go on the front until I saw a similar video not too long ago. Thanks for posting

I felt that way too but several years ago I saw a video that the Police department put out and it showed what would happen if a tire blew out, front vs. rear. That showed me that the best tires should go on the rear. They used rear drive cars but the reaction is the same.

I worked as a mechanic for one Police agency and saw a video that the Police, (an academy and testing agency), did with rear drive Crown Vics and Caprices. They didn't use worn tires but set the car up to blow a tire out on the front and rear. They ran the cars at a high rate of speed and blew one or the other out to see the reaction. The car was easier to bring to a controlled stop and handled better with a front tire blown out then a rear. When the popped a rear, they would have run off the road had they not been on a track.
