probably worth mentioning, there is also a "car charger" available for this use, i'd like to make sure everyone realises that it is a 'CHARGER' only. To be able to use this you would need to purchase some rechargable batteries ( 4 x AAA 800mAh Ni-MH or so)
Cheers guys, so far we have 3 for Package 2 and 1 for Package 1. I do have to buy at least 10 to get this discount so I'll hopefully find something to do with the rest of them.
Anyone else?
Also, interstate members should by all means express their interest here - if there are at least 10 people interested per state, the discount will still apply.

OK, I'm down for package 2. Hopefully I'll get a bit of use out of it, because I'm worried that I may not be able to attend heaps of meets in the coming months.
in other words, can channels 1 to 8 be repeater channels?
I'm guessing being 0.5 of a watt, it wouldn't be able to reach a repeater anyway..
My dad's a bit of a radio buff, that's where i'm getting this info from
Maybe we should look at something a little better? if it's a once off purchase, i'd pay a little more as soon as i start working full time over summer, that is. because at the moment, with exams, i'm not working, and i have exactly $0 in my possesion
no need for anything 'better', most people in the other states/cruises have been using handheld ones and they're fine for what you buy them for.
i personally am happy with this sort of product since i'll only be using it for cruises.
