Video Editing

Need some help with a home video I'm trying to burn to VCD. The video has been edited through windows movie maker 2 and when it was saved the sound and video are in sync. I am using Nero to convert it to VCD but when the cd is finished the sound and video are out of sync by about ten seconds.
Any tips would be most appriciated. Thanks.

Re: Video Editing

has the video been saved in movie maker 2 as mpg ? if so i have found that there are bad sync problems when re compressing it. Try AVI and that should stop your sync probs. if movie maker doesnt support it, go here http://kickme.to/themainlist and get a copy of ulead movie factory 2 or something on those lines.

Re: Video Editing

unfortunaltly the video can only be saved as a *.wmf and then nero converts it to vcd or mpg.

Re: Video Editing

i would say thats the problem. compressed formats quite easily go out of sync when re-compressed.

Re: Video Editing

Check out this site Video Help

It has all you need to know about creating VCD's, SVCD's, CVD's, DVD's, etc.
Just check out the guides (You would obviously want the converting guides)

Re: Video Editing

i have used Sonic MyDVD to create DVD's. I know there is a function in the program to create VCD's as well.

All i did was get the video from the camera, and then use MyDVD and burnt the files to a DVD disc. Took forever, but it works a treat
