Virus warning: eafalcon.com under attack!!

A warning to everyone: be particularly careful at this time before opening any attachments, particularly exe files.

gmanEA has been hit with a virus (whoever sent it was either impersonating me, or sending something through my e-mail account). Snoopy.exe and href.exe are 2 to be particularly careful of.

Apparently a picture of an EA Falcon was also attached, indicating that this is an act of 'revenge' by someone. Perhaps someone is upset about the merger - I don't know.

Anyway, if anyone has any information, please let us know.

Take care,

hmm

This is really pissing me off. Two viruses. The fact could be though that the person who sent it didnt do it on purpose.

If someone has "info@lynxwebhosting.com" aka me in their contacts list, also may have signature of two cars one being a red EA.

One message went something like this:
"This is my first game
I just made it
you are the first to try it
I hope you like it"

att: snoopy.exe , approx size = 87kb.

also was another email with href.exe attached, similar file size and this email was subject: how to calculate approx shipping costs"

A better file is up on my server for all of you to download and use. I recommend that you all run this program even if you dont think you have it.

Viruses are rife at the moment.

I have been receiving at least two a day for the past week. Coming from people/addresses I've never heard of.

One usually comes in with a repeat of the same within 10 - 20 mins of the first.

Norton Antivirus is picking these up - mostly that klez nasty

The thing with this virus is that the machine which appears to be sending the mail may not be infected either, it fakes the "from" address to look like it has come from them when it really hasnt. I agree I think any one who thinks they may have it run the patch to be on the safe side. And anyone who doesnt think they have it run it anyway.

I have scanned my system with that program, and nothing came up at all.

But I too have found viruses to be around lately. Even in my Hotmail account, I often get weird messages that are sometimes over 100 kbs, and a virus is detected...
