Vw Confirms Two Groups - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

VW confirmed on Friday its new corporate structure, which will group its
brands into 'sensible' marques - VW in Germany, Bentley in Britain and
Skoda in the Czech republic - and a 'romantic' group made up of Audi,
Lamborghini and Spain's Seat. The splitting of the brands into two groups
is said to be a pet project of new chairman-elect Bernd Pischetsrieder,
who takes office in April when current chairman Ferdinand Piech retires
from the chairmanship. Not placed in the re-grouping of VW's brands:
Rolls-Royce, which splits from Bentley and reverts to BMW's ownership in
2003.

I thought this might be interesting as it goes to comments made in the Aussie sectiona nd to the PAG group and the thinking behind it!

It sure does and one would think it would make it hard to go back or disband the group

With the exception of the race program and the bad press Ford have received this year, I still as I am sure you do feel things are on the way up.

I can't get a handle on the US market but certainly on the Jag and land Rover position in the UK things are looking up. Aslo with those brands in the US, and we don't need to mention our home country here do we. We know what we have in store for us.

Funny thing is I feel the same way. The only way to go from here is up so lets hope it all goes well from here..
