Umm. The Volkswagen Type 1 sedan, Beetle, apparently ended production in Mexico on friday the 6th of June 2003. Still waiting to here confirmation from VW. Now if only the NB would do the same thing!

Beetles are legends!

Ugly as hell, but very well built & designed, never say die mechanicals... a true automotive legend. Apparantly they are so solidly made that if you shut the doors and push it into water it'll float... and stay there (or so legend has it, can't say I've ever tried).

Have some respect, it's a car that's been around since the early 30s when Ferdinand Porsche helped Mr. Hitler draw up his plans for a 'People's Car' (Volk = people, Wagen = car). C'mon, the first Porsches were direct descendants of the Beetle, Mr. Porsche drew the plans for the first Porsche while he was in jail for War Crimes (No, not for having part in making the beetle).

Ford will never make a car with an image, reputation, or production life that will even come close to that of the beetle, so put that in your aloof pipes and smoke it!

Where's the respect?
