A very reliable source ( read someone who works there) told me they were informed on the power output of the VY HSV range, and to everybody's surprise the VY HSV base model ranges will all have 260kw and the GTS stay unchanged at 300kw, i thought you guys might get excited when you read this, dont wet your pants now.

For my opinion i think it is a smart move by HSV not to do anything drastic and make the power changes in future models once the real performance of the New ford range can be seen. All it means is my 'HSV i just beat one' sticker wont be in jeopardy from a stocky!

That remains to be seen, have you noticed the 500nm of torque on the XR8? If you have a 255 clubby, you will be around 25 off and 5kw down.

seriously, I thought the HSV range would be around 270kw, not that 10kw or 15kw would make a hell of a lot of difference in the end. Hey both (XR8 and HSV ) will be great, powerful compeditors.

apparently the monaro power outputs will be higher than the current models...but then again the SS didnt go up much so who knows..

I too was expecting 270Kw - 275Kw HSV's

Intersting times ahead! I bet HSV didn't see the 260Kw XR8 coming and thought they would be safe by just a little increase.

The XR8 is really going to bite into HSV's sales pie now.

As jerry said i was referring to a Stock HSV beating my VX , dont know what you are talking about.

And to my knowledge HSv hadnt finalised power out puts on there VY models till after power figures allthough not exact rough figures were known so they were aware of the power of the ford range. As for the XR8 biting into sales yes it will, all ford models will take some sales away from holden , it will be interesting to see how much though when the facts are reveiled.
