I was wondering if anyone has noticed that the VY Commodore steering wheel is almost an identical copy of the steering wheel that was shown on the Ford R5 duel cab concept car revealed at the 2000 Sydney motor show. Pictures were first revealed in this formum by cArSIK on the 19/8/02. Unfortunately I don't know how to attach pictures in this forum, I've tried but don't know if they come through.

Hahaha....good point. I thought that when I first saw it too. Holden may have thought to try and beat us at our own game, by using a similar wheel, only to have Ford come up with one that makes Holden's look like its from a billy cart.

They are probably both Momo steering wheels then? Just a thought...

And just for your infomation the steering wheel that was in the R5 concept is actually from the Mondeo.

I'm glad if Holden want to do a similar steering wheel to the R5 because I think that style look bad. As soon as I saw the R5, I didnt like the steering wheel and I still don't on the VY. I think it sorta looks to small and the spokes are too big :).

have a look at vectra and mondeo steering wheels. you can't say who is copying who.
