VZ HSV 6L LS2 305kw 550NM

I work for holden as some of you already know and today they told us the VZ power output for HSV is 297kw or as ford measures it 305 kw and is the LS2 6L looks like where in for a ford toasting from Holden again, what do you guys think,. They reckon it is as quick as a M5 or some model Ferrari with all new braking and heaps more new stuff

Well I wonder if the FPV mkII's will have an increased kw figure to combat that figure from HSV.

Wheres it going to stop.....

I doubt very much that Ford would bother changing the 290...

The government are eventually going to crack the shits about this.. No wonder you can buy runout Clubsports for $49,990, good work HSV well done!! I feel sorry for anyone who paid Recommended Retail for one of these babies..

Who can see the trend here? as the cars get heaver they keep bringing out bigger and more powerful engines! Soon it will be 450KW in a car that weighs 3 tonne so it'll probably still pull a low 14 over teh quarter, I think they should try and get the weight of the car down and keep power figures low, IMHO I reckon it's just getting stupid!

Thats very true. Look at the DJR XR8 its 320kw yet in the mag tests they could only get 0-100 in 6.9secs or something.

Pffft doubt it.
Would be impressive if true though.
I'm not too sure, but I think we won't be seeing much more power from Holden/HSV after this, they have been doing this for years. New engine/upgrades, more power, heaps of hype. It should all die down soon, and will all be forgotten, I'm hoping anyway.

HSV's ***CLAIMED*** figures may as well have come from some entrails or the alignment of the planets. If they are making more claims, then I'll be laughing them off!

As for their actual engine package, it will be a performer, no doubt. I have absolutely no doubt as well that FPV will NOT respond, they never have and they never will. Sad really.
