what is the lowest you can go? and where do they measure it from? the ground to the lights, the ground to the lowest point?

10cm from the lowerest part of the car to the ground. However I've seen cops measure from the middle of the light to the group which needs to be 30 cm or some crap.

what happens if the exhaust hangs down a little? do they measure from that? I have to take my XF over the pits soon to pass rego, so Im a little worried

I doubt they would care.. The front will be lower then the back anyway so they generally take it from there as far as I know

In WA they measure from the centre of your rim vertically to your guard, It must measure within the given specs of your make and model or else hello yello :)

10cm is not always the case so dont go buy that measurement or you might end up stuck. Ring or visit your local inspection centre, they have all the figures that you need to know.

Those with an EF its 340mm rear and 350mm or 360mm front.

oh ok thanks :) but thats sorta seems silly I think, so if you modded the gaurds to be up further you could have the car sitting on the ground? I mean who would want to but whats ride hieght for anywayz? is it just so you have enough clearance under the car?

Its so you have a nice and comfy ride. When you lower your car you will find out how annoying a lowered car is :) Driveways your cant get up, speed bumps you cant make it over, potholes that hurt your back, the list goes on and on...

But it makes your car look sexy doing so

In WA, the rules for lowering state that, At least 2/3 of the original suspension travel must be retained. Clearance to the lower rim of the headlamp must be at least 500mm, The front and rear must be lowered equally.
