I recently moved from QLD to W.A.
I went to register my car and was told it is based on the WEIGHT of the car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
$13.50 per 100kg. So that means a BA is more expensive to register in W.A. than a Holden !!!
Which dickhead thought this up ?
A 6 cylinder car is a 6 cylinder car, as far as registration purposes go. 4WDS must cost a fortune to register.
Well I paid around $500 odd for my XR8 for 12 months, (included in the purchase price of the car). I think it's abit much for rego, but i was paying $420 for my EF 6cyl before that. So it's not that much realy, but then again I'm used to paying these overinflated prices!

Kieron. I paid $650.75 for my Fairlane in QLD. The rego is cheaper in Perth. But ,I don't see why weight has to be the deciding factor. If it was to do with road damage, why isn't the east coast rego calculated the same way. ? If it is such a good idea, to reflect weight to road damage ?
To me ,it is just blatant revenue raising and us car drivers are filling up govt coffers.
You think YOU have a problem?
What about the truckies???
They're the ones paying for roads thay're not allowed to use!
State looks after city roads first, anything outside that's not a major highway is usually gravel!
Sorry, I just hate this whole issue.

yeah country people are hit hard farmers for instance can be paying rego on a couple of vehicles, tractors, truck etc and have some of the worst roads of all......not to mention pay a lot more for fuel.
qld to register my sprint
if paid before due date $782.20
if after that date $822.20
now how F#@@ked is that especially when the roads in the south-east are F#$@#$@d big time!!!!
