WA to hide SPEEDCAMERA'S - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Man i cant believe this.. After paying taxes,road taxes blah blah blah & even the odd speeding fine, WA are now set to hide their speed cameras...... Aint they making much revenue at the moment
.. I know what your about to say... If you dont speed you have nothing to worry about... Maybe so but this is just getting beyond a joke.

Hiding cameras is revenue raising - putting them out in plain view and painting them orange makes you slow down.

Shows what the governments priorities are doesnn't it.

Must be to recover the lost money from the stolen speed camara lol. Think yourself lucky in Melb we've had them for a while and now we have redlight camaras that are also speed camaras.

They did this in NZ (Waikato) on a trial basis for about a year, claiming all the usual bull s h i t about reducing the road toll.
What happens.... the road toll in the trial area actually goes up, go figure !

the new traffic head has said that they are also going to start cracking down on small things people have been getting away with, arms out windows etc etc

now that is pure revenue raising!!

there are other more urgent and dangerous traffic promblems than that.

If you want to stop the cameras do something about it! Cameras only records the offence whereas a HWP officer actually stops the offence - whether you get a ticket or not is down to his discretion.
The only way to stop the cameras is to vote out the Govt and lobby the Opposition. Let the Govt. know this is what will happen and let the Opposition know that its a BIG issue. Lobby all of the insurance providers, because after all they employ a lot of people, survive on business from the consumer and need legislative support from the Govt.
If you do this it can change, or you can whinge about it. Face it, there is no way you will remove traffic police and the small things that people don't do (fail to indicate, hog the fast lane, noisy stereo's etc) distract from the job at hand - driving.
Accept that traffic police will remain but argue vehemently for the removal of speed cameras!

hey, Richard Court started it all, Geoff Gallop is continuing the trend. Theyre both as evil as each other, just one happens to be mates with Tony Blair.

What we need to do is to recruit minors (who will get little more than a slap on the wrist) who wear mullets and tatty flannel shirt. Then they need to be trained in special Boot Camps (WA Highschools). The brightest bogan in the group will be promoted to intel, where he will learn specialized skills in how to distract the civillian camera operator in the van, from the rest of his mates who are currently hard at work stealing the actual camera!

Outlaw motorcycle gangs, Harley Davidson wreckers and drug dealers will offer a cash amnesty for an on-the-spot delivery of a Multinova. These cameras will then be made benign, so they can be sold as ornamental statues, without irradiating the owners of the statue, so they wont get cancer!

That way, everybody wins!
