If the Liberal Party win the next State election (2005). They have said "they will adjust them to allow for reasonable margin over the limit, and account for variations in speedometers. Will be placed at high risk spots, so as not too be seen as revenue raisers. Make them more visible." They know this is an election winner. But will they keep their promise? Pollies have a notorious track record in not keeping promises !
Lets hope this is the start of sensible use of speed cameras.

hhhmmmm...dont hold your breath. the liberal party introduced these evil bastard things to perth in the first place. they then proceeded to misuse all of the funds from them after promising 100% of fines to go to road safety. a promise that wasnt kept.

the labour party promised to fix this and direct all fine proceeds back to road safety, and guess what? nothing has happened. i cant tell any difference between the placement of speed cameras between the two governments.

IMHO, they are all a pack of lying, self-serving, snivelling, scum sucking pricks.

Seriously though, those sound almost identical to the promises made in Queensland when speed cameras were introduced. Don't expect the promises to be kept, but you might get one or two years of grace
