Warning - Fake Ebay email

Just a warning for Ebay users, I received an email today on Hotmail, which looked like:

service@paypal.com Account Verification Nov 30 4KB

It has come to our attention that your PayPal Billing Information records are out of date. That requires you to update the Billing Information.
Failure to update your records will result in account termination. Please update your records in maximum 24 hours. Once you have updated your account records, your PayPal session will not be interrupted and will continue as normal. Failure to update will result in cancellation of service, Terms of Service (TOS) violations or future billing problems.
Please click here to update your billing records.

When I waved the mouse pointer over the 'click here' hyperlick, it showed a dodgy address in the bottom panel of the window.

I forwarded the email to Ebay, and since received a reply that it wasn't from them, that someone was 'phishing'.

Don't be silly enough to send your details to someone else!

Re: Warning - Fake Ebay email

Sorry people, I didn't mean to post this message to say "I know something you don't". I know a lot of internet users are aware of spam, spoof, etc. Ebay has become popular with the population (!), and some users are not that familar with the scams that do exist out there.

I found a recent attempt to scam my details from me, and if I can save one person from making a mistake by replying to the same email, then I'm happy!

Cheers and beers!
