Can someone please explain to me why the TE50 weighs just 4 kilos more than the XR8 when it comes as with a Fairmont base with larger rims and more equipment.
XR8 =1660kg
TE50=1664kg
And if this is right then the performance of the XR8 won't be that much different to the FTE

There would be some weight reductions to the V8 engine cause it uses alloy heads on the TE50 and cast heads on the XR8, but other than that I am not sure what could cause suck a small weight difference....

Yeah - the new XR8 engine weighs at least 22kg more than the alloy head synergy 220. The new TE50s will weigh more now as well since they are now iron head engines.
