The Weight of that laminated Firewall

Was just going through the rego file and was interested in the weight of the cars, here are a few

Fairmont sedans all the same specs
99 1565kg
99 1485kg
00 1485kg
01 1524kg

Futura sedans all the same specs
98 1511kg (guessing EL)
98 1475kg
99 1475kg
00 1514kg
01 1534kg (S pack)
01 1514kg

Forte sedans all the same spec
98 1475kg
99 1475kg
99 1450kg
00 1505kg
01 1505kg

I guess as well as laminated firewalls, there was a host of other sound deadening material they used and addition equipment that added the weight.

The Fairmont is interesting, actually lost weight, then put some back on again.

Hmm thought the first 99 fairmont of 1565kg was a typo and it really was a 98 EL Fairmont.

As i remember EL fairmonts weighed in about that much.

The two fairmont figures for 99 might be with and without IRS as this would be around 75kgs.

I thought the laminated firewall adds about 30kg.

Nope all have been live rear ends, just looked at the rego papers again at it was listed as a dual fuel car, I spoke with the boss and he said he never saw a gas tank in the boot, someone must have screwed up I think.
