Hello guys i have to weld rust hole up in the kick panel inside of my escort panel van would i have to take the fuel tank out or is it safe to weld the hole up inside the car. so far ive stripped the interior execpt the loom which ive covered with damp rags

just disconnect the battery. as long as your not welding near the tank ie: so it will get hot, then you should be right.

hrmmmmmm i might disconnect it just to make the olds happy coz they recon coz iam using a mig that it might go up lol. oh well ill just chuck the tank in the back yard. should take me 15 mins to strip the intoiour out then another 4hrs taken the damm tank out.

hrmm the manuel with my welder is confusin. iam using 0.8 wire is that ok for body work. if i did use 0.8 wire do i use a 0.8 tip or a 0.9 as this book is confusin me

Yes use the .8 tip with .8 wire.
Also cover up any glass as splaters melt into the glass... and keep a fire hose or extinguisher near by!

i cant get my welder to do tacks. with tacking all i do i point and press the trigger and it should tack right? is it that simple or is there more to it. as right now all it does it bird shit like droplets.

Theres a bit more to it than just pressing the trigger. You have to get your angle right, the tip should be at a 30 - 40 degree angle to the weld, as if your "blowing the weld along".

The wire should stick out from the end of the shroud (the brass bit that covers the tip) by about 5mm. Or alternatively look at the shround side on, then draw an imaginary line following the outside curve of the shround on both sides, the tip shoudl be at the top of the imaginary lines.

Then you've got things like wire speed, and how much gas is going into it... If you dont know what your doing, get someone who can teach you.
