Theres a bit more to it than just pressing the trigger. You have to get your angle right, the tip should be at a 30 - 40 degree angle to the weld, as if your "blowing the weld along".
The wire should stick out from the end of the shroud (the brass bit that covers the tip) by about 5mm. Or alternatively look at the shround side on, then draw an imaginary line following the outside curve of the shround on both sides, the tip shoudl be at the top of the imaginary lines.
Then you've got things like wire speed, and how much gas is going into it... If you dont know what your doing, get someone who can teach you.
