What the?!

Alright, John and I can't figure this one out;

It's an EL for sure, October 96. However;

EF tail lights
*ignore that!*
EF GLi front
Can't see the wheels, but that rear one looks like a stocky to me
No holes in the boot lid (spoilers weren't a delete option John tells me)

What the hell is going on here?!

I reckon it's had a front end punt, no insurance, EF GLi front. However that doesn't really explain the stockies. Stolen recovered? Why replace the front end? Wanted the sleeper look? Why leave the badges?

What other stories can we come up with?

Also has EL "Falcon" badge.

List as 5 speed XR8...
No 5 speed V8's were available unless it was a XR8 afaik.
Auto only in futura/GLi

whats so hard about that? maybe it has a factory 5L and they later put the XR8 badge on or its possible that theyve swapped engines and then put the badge on? manual conversion isnt that hard either. also pickles could have said XR8 coz it has that badge and 5L but didnt really bother checking the plates.

maybe some one did the 5 speed swap, and badged it as an xr8??? was half way through doing it up and something happened?

I'd say its a repo, and the owner knew it was coming and pre-sold the wheels and front before they got their hands on it ..Doesn't explain the Falcon badge though, the power windows were XR or Futura only afaik

Its very feasible. I know a bloke who had a V8 Futura and turned it into an "XR8".

Yes but the Futura and XR didnt have the "Falcon' badge on the rear beaver panel

Closest guess would be:

Late build EF.
Pre-ordered V8 Futura.
Built along with EL's (released in that month)
Converted to manual
put badges on it..

other option: RaceCraft's idea..... cept why would you swap EL tail lights to EF
