Hell yeah the Americans have been missing out. Chevy no longer have a mainstream rear drive sedan with the discontinueing of the Chevy Caprice. CAN YOU IMAGINE??? In America, you can't get a rear drive sedan from GM, the largest car manufacturer in the world. Ford still have the Crown Victoria, which is pretty sweet, but that's got about as much performance as my EF 6 pot. A car like the Barra would, IMHO, absolutely dominate the US market and has no equal.
But then again, the way the American mind works defies logic. Look at the popularity of Honda over there. The demise of the Camaro and Firebird. FWD Cadillacs and Lincolns?!?!?!? The popularity of the PT Cruiser, VW Beetle, Ford Taurus. The makers of the mighty Toyota Avalon...
I also predicted that come October, with the launch of BA, Holden, Toyota and Mitsubishi would pack up and go home... Still waiting on that one.
We definitely got it good over here. Few people in other countries and even over here realise that.
Btw, someone on the US forum was worried about the high octane rating of our fuel: we measure our octane in RON whereas they use AKI. Basically, their octane ratings tend to be lower than ours so our fuels are roughly the same.
