What bargins have you picked up?

We've got the rip off thread, so why not.

First bargin was the car I spose. Immac condition, few minor issues that $100 fixed in a week, paint is great, interior is almost perfect, couldn't of asked for a nicer engine (well, one with 6 cylinders). $4300 with RWC and 10 months rego.

King low fronts and XR rears; $74 all up.
EL thermofans; $125
EA-ED factory workshop manual (the complete one); $86

cool Re: What bargins have you picked up?

84 meteor. $150 from the wreckers, mint interior average paint and a lil rust. including rego it cost about $500 to put back on the road.
85 XF pano (theres threads on this) $450 from the auctions, stolen rcovered and still had a heap of the guys shit in the back. including rego probably around $1000 to put back on the road. but i fixed/replaced things that didnt really need to be done for a RWC though so i could have done it cheaper.

also soon to come my way is a 87 ZL fairlane, spotless interior but faded paint. has always been WELL looked after (you know how old people fix things BEFORE they break!...well this is one of those cars!) RWC and 12 months rego for the BARGAIN price of FREE!

Re: What bargins have you picked up?

First and formost would be the car for me, too. $500 cash and then $900 for the roadworthy, which included lh mirror, lh headlight, rocker cover gasket, and a/c conversion to R134a and regassing. :)
Instrument cluster for $40 I was happy with, but pretty much anything I've bought from JR's has been good.
Oh, and $25 for the complete cruise setup, minus wiring. That's my best one yet.

EA GL-Ghia pseudo operator
3.9 MPFI converted 4 speed
2.5 inch exhaust
NC Ghia interior (except rear trims)
Fairmont audio (with 4 speakers)
Cruise control
S-pac cluster with white dials
Trip computer and Fairmont interior lighting.
Half wired Ghia BCM.

Re: What bargins have you picked up?

Not much... Oh a S Pac cluster with Smartlock light for $40! Getting it in an hour. And I thought I did well with my car about 18 months ago, just over $5k for a straight ED with 154k kms on the clock.
