Just wondering what other people thought is the best online game?

I personally haven't actually played any games online on the web, only over LANs those being GTA1 and Blood. Both where stacks of fun.

What do other people think is the best online game, and what do people think of Age of Empires II online?

Personally I have been meaning to try Age of Empires II with the Conquerors expansion but havent to date, due a few factors being not owning a registered version and being limited to a 56K modem without broadband.

Also out of interest does anyone know whether the games consules like Sony Playstation and Xbox, get over the problem of people having faster connections than other users, or is this still a problem? (sorry if this has already been discussed)

Age of Mythology is good value, for those interested in that sort of game...

Ghost Recon is good fun, but my favorite is BF1942. Excellent value, so much to do or try out, requires working well as a team or getting your arse kicked. Don't bother trying unless you have broadband though, or unless your dial-up rocks the party...

Yeah BF1942 has to the best first person.
I can't believe how big the counter strike parade still is. Never got in to that game to be honest.
Know what I'm waiting for...HOMEWORLD 2 multiplayer.
Ohhhh sweet mother of God i loved homeworld can't wait for the second comming!
While were on the game front: Star Wars Knights of the Old republic. If you have an Xbox GET this game. I've had 2 days off and this game for 2 days and I've clocked up 15 hours on this game and I'm no where near 25% done. AWESOME!

Any Blizzard game.. I own Starcraft 2, Diablo 2, and Warcraft 3, and all are the best online games I've ever played, and neither charge for online play. I've heard Counter-Strike is good though, yet I haven't gotten the chance to try it myself..

That's funny, Blizzard haven't even announced Starcraft 2 yet...

Only online game I've played is Starcraft (With the Brood War expansion) which was awesome! Many late late nights.
