My work mate just purchaced a 1991 VN S Commie.
it's in good condition manual 290,000kms white for $3000.
I'll say it again $3000. When he told me this I didn't believe him but I've seen it with my own eyes and it's there.
The dealer told him (dodgy second hand car dealer) that he couldn't sell it and had to drop the price. Now I know a million missguided fools that would have paid at least $5000 for that car.
So what gives??
(Ps ha ha ha Still doesn't stack up to my EB falcon with 90,000 kms less and central locking)
My mates VN is A1 condition. It is immaculate. His parents have owned it from new, and he purchased it for $5000. It is an S, its auto, and it has 142,000km on the clock. When he bought it in april off them, it only had 132,000km on it. Its a fantastic first car, perfect red original duco, body coloured bumpers, its just a great car. I really respect him and his parents for looking after this car, because there simply isn't a much better example of a VN out there. (P.S. just recently, he found out he has FE2 suspension, and they didn't even ask for it!)

If it's the original running gear, then I'm not surprised. At 290K, it would be just about stuffed. So that 3k, ends up being a 6k car after major rebuild / repairs. Not the bargain it origially was.
PS: There is no such thing as a bargain from a used car guy. He'd be making a profit on that 3k sale.
My mate brought a 1990 VN for $3,000 not that long ago (Late March this year) He had to get another engine and slushbox after only 230,000 km. His second (200,000km) is now playing up. :oo1:
Great car aye...pffft. lol. :hrm:
strange thing is that its a manual, and most Taxi's wouldnt be a manual, considering the amount of effort it would take to operator the clutch and gearstick all the time.
