My dad is thinking about buying a new but used car, particulary a falcon of some description.

He wants to spend around $20,000 and is leaning toward a AU2. If anyone has any ideas on any falcon from EF to AU, i would like to know which would be the best buy. And also any problems or happiness that you have had with a particular model.

I would probably get a NF or NL LTD. Failing that get a NF or NL Fairlane Ghia (Full leather of course). Failing that go the EF or EL Fairmont Ghia with the full leather. Cant go wrong and he will be very happy!!!

Look around, you might find a nice EL2 XR8 !

I've seen some AU1 fairmonts for around 20K there pretty nice cars. Goodluck with the "car hunting" though!

Get a low km NF Fairlane V8 for around $16k. You can't beat the cast iron Windsor donk.

Get an AU Fairmont, better to drive and cheaper to run, and I am speaking from experience here, having owned an EF and now an AU.
