What is "continental"

the other week I seen a big arse import (low rider styles) and on the front end it had a big badge across the front that said "continental".
just now I have seen this http://mang02.freeyellow.com/Fairlane/ozZG.htm
, the same badge on an australian fairlane.
is it some sort of dealer thing or what? anyone?

Re: What is "continental"

Yeah, i'd say it's the Lincoln Continental. I've seen a few of them around. They look very mean in black, hehe.

Re: What is "continental"

Why - cause it fits, like sticking opal badges on a Holden.

I think its the vinyl roof where it comes forward on quarter panel..
I had the same badge on my old XA Futura with same roof line..

If this helps...
