I know alot of these threads about "what to buy out of the XR6T and the XR8" have already been posted and i to am facing the same dilema but under different circumstances. See im doing a ground up rebuild on my XW Fairmont which will house a fully worked 351 Boss motor, top loader, 9inch etc etc... and i currently drive a datsun 1200 for work but i've had enough of this and so i want to by a new xr ute. So heres where my dilema is do i go for the xr6t(which was my first choice but seing as the price differnce is only $1000) or the xr8. keeping in mind i do have a v8 but its in a different league to these current v8s. I also carry a bit of material but either options will handle it fine.

A bit of a hard choice...XR6T ute or XR8 ute...bugger it go for the eight you can't beat the sound of a bent 8 on full song

if you wanna mod the car afterwards... get the turbo!
if not.. xr8.... bonnet bulge!! and a much better gearbox.

That's a fair upgrade going from a Datto 1200 to a new XR ute! Flip a coin, you're not going to be disappointed with either.

well i had an XH S pak ute and i sold that and bought the datto so i could finish the xw and save for something better so the time has come.
