Question

just wondering what the rest of the automotive world thinks of the probe, and if it should be brought back

93 PGT 5 speed- series 1 fx chin w/series 2 sides/rear , thruster wing prd rear bar, ACT stage 2
brospeed exhaust, pheno spacers, hotshot intake, ngk's, 17"konig toxxins

It'll never happen. The Focus is too popular. I'm anxious to see the upcoming SVT version.

i know its not gonna happen......i was just wondering what people outside of the probe community thought. it was a sweet car that kinda got the backseat because it was mostly a mazda, and never got the respect it deserved....just thinking out loud again haha

It's only become popular because of several crucial areas in the car bussiness.
1. The Focus happen to come out when gas prices went up.
2. Price, why would you buy a Civic when you can buy a Focus at a cheaper price and basiclly get the same performance out of it.
3. After market performance parts was available for this car before it even hit the showroom floor.
4. Marketing, All I've had is Focus shoved in my face. I tune into Speedvision there it is. I go to read a car mag there it is. I watch the Simpons on Sunday night, show goes to a commercial there it is again.

It's kind of ironic, when Ford was going to do away with the Mustang people wrote letters to stop it. They redesign it for 1994,added more horse power to it. Now it's a good seller. If Ford had added more horses to the Probe and marketed the thing right, you wouldn't need the redesign Cougar. BTW how many of you knew that when the Cougar first came out what car was its main competitor ? Jaguar, so over the years Ford has really done a number to this car. Escort, isn't that what the Focus really is. Another stupid redesign and change of name. If you really think I hate the Ford Focus your right. Team Focus found out at NOPI I didn't like their car. The first thing out of their mouth was "it's better than a Honda" well thats great guys but I don't drive a $#$@*%@ Honda. So that shows who their trying get to buy the Focus. Sorry I'll get off of the soap box now.

AMEN to that!!! they never marketed the probe at all! can only think about what "could" have been.....
