What do U think of the 4 cylinder/Rotory scene

Hey, was just wndering what you lot think of the 4 cylinder & rotary scene?
I know alot of people on the forum are v8 fans but i also have seen a large number of 4 fans also.

i really think the rotory scene in australia is awsome
the 4 scene has been let down by the 'Rice' factor, which is anly a small part of the 4 scene, imports are becomin more & more popular 2

whatdya reckon?????

Question

I think the current 4 cylinder and rotary scene is getting very Ricey (tm). Full of Lancers with 17" wheels jumping around on bumpstops with 6" exhaust cannons and FUL-SIK (tm) stereos. I remember when the 4 cylinder scene used to be 2 litre Escorts with twin webers and Minilite wheels. Maybe I'm just getting old?

Every scene has morons in it. For every fully sik Excel there's some tool with a shitbox V8 running open headers.

The 4 cylinder boys have a bad rap at the moment due to the "$12,990 drive away no more to pay" specials. Hopefully these dorks will move on & leave some pretty cool 4 bangers & rotors.

I'm a fan of the true 4cyl sports cars. Mitsu Evo (the proper $60-80k ones), STi's are fading from my fan list - just not enough balls.

Escorts are top cars, but just difficult to find :/

Always time for turbo rotories too. Nothing like a fresh approach to the engine :)

I've got time for electric cars too. If you've read about the ones i have in the US, then u'd be a bit of a fan too. Some dude made a pure electric MR2, weighed about 100kg less than the motor version, and was able to spin wheels when you floored it at 40mph. And would get about 200miles per charge.

That sorta electric car would catch my attention.

especially that. i have the minilites already for my car.

i have no problem with any cars...4 cyl, 6 cyl or 8 or beyond. i am old school though and believe that all show and no go is bad. wrx / evo are awesome machines. i dont even mind a civic / lancer whatever that has been tasefully lowered and a subtle set of wheels. but bloody great 'mugen' stickers, spoilers that cause havoc with air traffic and hideous wheels that are way too big are just stupid.

as for rotaries...if you are going to run one, you had better be very sure of your car. my most convincing defeat came at the hands of an RX3. i have only been demolished like that twice before, and both times by big v8's.

anyone who writes off a car based on the engine size is begging to get a hiding. please allow me to help

Can't stand scroataries, possibly stems back to the days when I had an XWGT and couldn't drive past Auburn without dozens of them swooping on me demanding a drag.

Forever going on about 'ancient pushrod technology' yada yada yada. A my technology is better than your dinosaur technology attitude. Could never beat my dinosaur pushrod though!

I have two mates at work that own an RX3 each and they do put out impressive numbers, REAL impressive, would slay my 8 now... but they have also inherited the 'ancient pushrod technology' attitude of their forefathers.

The 4cyl scene.. seems to be the same as the scroats once were, an attitude against V8's. Regularly have 4cyl cars pull up to me at the lights thinking they have to prove something to me, then abuse me at the next set when I don't bother to run them.

Likely I only see the fringe who are small dogs with a big dog attitude, but seeing a 4cyl with whacky body kits, generating more exhaust noise than engine power and pumping out doof doof music that can be heard within a 3 suburb radius only makes me shake my head.

<insert more generalisations I've missed here....> ;P

I have nothing against any car engine size there is some great 4 bagers out there & I'd love say a Sierra RS500 but as for the scene side of thing I doubt it could be much lamer it scares me that I see much of the same kind of thing going on in Commodores Im hoping it doesn't spread to Falcons too much I've already scene a couple. As for chook cookers I think the rotor scene is dieing out I know there quick but I hate them there is more to a car then speed alone

I'm probably gonna get flamed here. I'm 17 and getting my lincense soon. What is your oppinion of a blown Lancer with an EVO bodykit and 150-160kw? Cos I think for a little under $25k I can have a car that looks good and goes well as well.
