check out Redbook. You might get an idea on market values for it.

On the other hand, it's a XR so what could be wrong. :D

If they are asking $10k then offer them $8500 cash, the main thing id be wiery of is the Kms, but if everything works and opens and shuts and has a service history then it should be a good buy (other than its an Auto )

Well $10K for an ED is a pretty good deal if the car is in good nick. KM's doesn't really matter on a V8 as long as service has been carried out and good oil is used.
I guess a drive around the block will reveal things.

If it's in good nick, then it's a good price. You really need to check it out though before deciding anything. Check the usual stuff -
(1) Rust in the usual spots
(2) Tranny smoothness - if it's whining etc. it could mean a costly rebuild or replacement
(3) Unusual engine noises, like ticking etc.
(4) Smoke from exhaust
(5) Colour of oil (but they may have just changed it)
(6) Interior trim

.. yeah the main things to check though are the tranny and engine, as they will cost the most to repair if they're shot.

Good luck mate

Sounds like a good buy to me. I was looking at a 5 speed ED XR8 a few months that the dealer was asking $20,000 for and wouldn't budge 1c on the price. No cruise or CD either!:(

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen. It said, 'Parking Fine.'So that was nice.
