I thought this would be an interesting topic of conversation. Obviously different types of cars say different things about their owners, even the colour says a lot about the owner... you've all seen the beige Corolla driving along the road and made an instant assumption about the owner. So what made you choose your car? Was it because you were saying something about your style? Your lifestyle? Your sense of power? Also, why did you choose the colour you did?

PS Answering this topic is optional for FM (might be a bit embarrassing trying to justify the purple Festy :MUha: )

I have a shiny red coupe , blown , that had 2BADD number plates. My mates used to call it my "big red shiny penis car"

I have no idea what they were getting at!!! (ahem)

Never really thought my cars were saying anything other than I am one fussy bastard and if you scratch my car you better be a quick runner.

If my car could talk it would say that it gets compliement on its skin tone and the skin care treatment choice. Wrinkles and minor blemishes are hard to find.

The face lift and leg wax would tell people that I don't like looking old and that I may pass as a much younger vintage untill you get to know me and see me for what I am.

Bought the Red AU XR6 because it looks mean from the front, and because I couldnt afford the XR8 thats was in the same yard(DOH). Still heaps to do toit but that adds to the excitement.

Wish they had made slight changes to the rear tail lights though... remove the wing and the XR6 badge and its just a forte rear end. (banish the thought)

XR6 had a better resale value than the forte!!! (;p)

Nah, just think the XR's look much better than a standard forte. and red... well its red, its just faster than all the rest! (No offence Grunter - the silver is awesome aswell)

I bought my car because I've wanted one for as long as I can remember ... I remember once when I was in Highschool, being told by my dad that I shouldn't be dreaming over those cars, cause I'd never be able to afford one - I guess it just spurred me on :s3

Umm... lets see...

I wanted an XR8, I didnt like the EF's.. the EL's where still brand new (and well out of my price range)
I loved the ED / EB Shape (at the time I was still driving an EA) but the twin head lights on the ED meant it HAD to be the ED.

Now... when you are looking for a manual ED XR8, and only have $22k cash - you dont get too many choices for colour.

All I really wanted was a straight car, went ok, immaculate interior (one pen mark or cig stain and I wouldnt even take it for a test drive).

Luckily I love green, and it was in the 2nd dealer I went to on Boxing day 1997.

oh P.S.....

My parents had forbidden me from ever buying a V8... didnt live with them so I figured they never had to know.

took them a good 5 or 6 months before they found out. (I had told them I got an "XR" - I never mentioned the V8 bit... but my sis found out and dobbed on me)
