yeah hi im new to this site so hi to u all im an obsessed ford man and ne chance i get i like to prove my holden counterparts wrong. neway enough about that i was wondering im considering buying me an EL XR6. i was just wondering what would b the most amount of BHP or KW i could suck out of the inline 6 without sticking on such things as a turbo or a supercharger. i was thinking more along the lines of extractors and torque chips etc. what would i b looking @ in terms of price? and how much power would i gain? also my old man owns an XR6 AUII in auto with adjustable stick shift (i think thats what it is called cant remember atm) its the kind that doesnt come with power button u have to turn the car off and do some stuff and there are the three options ecenomic, adjustable shift, and high performace. i was wondering does that come out on the EL and would it b better if i were to get the manual neway?
If you have a El XR6 engine should be good for around 120+, Bolt extractors and system on 130+, JMM Dev3 cam I'd say 140+....and you could keep on going if you wanted the head worked a lil...The world is your oyster my friend!
They seem to know what they are on about and claim up to 180rwkw.
Many people are sceptical of the claims, but the kit I fitted came within 12kw of the claims before it was totally optimised.
Give a call.
Re: whats the most power i can get out of an inline 6?
If your looking for about 140-150rwkw, it not too bad without forced induction, actually pretty easy with the right gear. If you want power figures above that, it will probably end up being more cost effective to bolt on a blower/turbo. However, i'm not saying 185+ at the rears cant be done N/A.

how many KW does the EL XR6 come with? considering the AU XR comes with 164KW, or 172KW if u get the VCT so the EL would be about 150KW already wouldnt it?

EL XR6 would be somewhere between 162 and 164 kw. It's pretty much the same engine as the AU XR6HP. Even the standard EL engine makes about 157kw. If you get yourself an EL XR6 you shouldn't need to play around too much with the head as they are pretty sweet. Change you cold air intake - box or pod with a K & N, Redline or Holley Filter, get extractors (Pacemaker or JMM), 2 1/2" exhaust and a uni chip and you should be making 200Kw. Your extractors and exhaust shouldn't cost you more than $800 fitted. The Airbox or pod should only cost a couple of hundred. If you want to modify the airbox yourself and just drop a K & N panel in that's pretty straight forward and you'd get away with it for about $160. Unichip and dyno tuning you'd be looking at a bit - it'd be over a grand and I don't know that it would make that much of a difference. Either way, you could get around 180 - 190Kw at the flywheel for around $1000 and probably a little over 200Kw for about double that.
If you want more power then you might want to look at a JMM Cam or a lumpy Crow job and bigger valves, but then your looking at serious money.
