I will be picking up my EB at the end of next week and soon enough my parents will be hassling me to get rid of my XF.
Apparantly 3 cars is too many for me to have.

Any ideas what I can sell my car for or if I would be better off wrecking it?

Its a yellow 1985 XF sedan, the body is pretty straight with a tiny bit of surface rust in the boot lit and some minor bubbling above the tail lights on the side panels.
It is lowered with superlow king springs.
It will have stock wheels/tyres as Im keeping the 17's.
It has tinted windows-Darkest legal by premier tint in nunawading.
It has the brown interior. Seats are not in the best condition. There are holes in the door trim where my splits were.
I have electric windows for the front doors but not installed yet.
It has a sports steering wheel.

Now the good part.
It has a 351 clevo of unknown specification but is not standard and a C10 trans. The engine has fairly new extractors and a fairly new 2.5 exhaust system. It has a high volume oil sump and a little bit of lumpiness is felt with the cam.
It has thermoguad carby which was rebuilt around 3 months ago. It is also running an electric fuel pump.
I will try and get a dyno run for it after my next car is organised. Or if I still have it, it will be dragged in may at heathcote.

It is running the stock single spinner 2.92 diff.

the car is not engineered and cant be roadworthied without an engineering certificate.
It would most likely be the sort of car which you will wreck and use the parts from.

Any ideas what is it worth fellas? I know it wont be much but an indication would be good.

If it cant be roadworthied then I think your best bet is to take it to some wreckers and see wht they will give you for it! I wouldnt think you'll get much more than $1000 though.

I thought around that figure. My EB is an auto so maybe I can work out some sort of trade with them to get the EB manualised. I bought the engine and trans and all that stuff off them only a few months ago, they are good blokes. Ill go round there this week and ask them what it is worth.

I would say that the wreckers would be keen to trade your XF for a good contition manual box. That way it really doesnt cost them anything at all.

I'd go for it!

i wouldnt pay more than 700 bux for your car, thats if its straight as.... wreck it out, ull get more money.....

we sold a few shells at 600 and 700 bux.... and mums old purple one for 1000... no interior or motor on any of them.... the purple one had a 1 month old paint job....
5-800 bux for motor and tranny.... body panels... 30 bux each... diff, mabye 100 bux... interior.. dunno....

Umm no!
Ill try and keep the car in my possession for as long as I can, i want to bring it to heathcote in may. It just doesnt seem worth getting rid of it for $700-$800 when I can drive it around as it is and enjoy it myself. ITs a ball to drive, The new EB will be pitiful in comparison. Ill keep driving it on weekends for now. Ill see what I want to do after heathcote.
