What Phase would the BA GTHO be?

"We asked people what the GT-HO would have to be and they want it to be an echo of the past. It has to be what it used to be, the very pinnacle of high-performance motoring. Building a car like that takes a lot of planning and research and we're not ready ...yet.' - David Flint (FPV)

With all this talk about GT-HO making an appearance towards the end of the BA series (series 2?)..
Im curious as to what official Phase this would be????

We all know about the phase 2 and 3. Phase 4 was the XA that never made it...
Apparently, there were other phases' that followed...
Phase V - was an XE
Phase VI - was an XD
and Phase VII - was an EA
Anyone got any info on them?

Will BA GTHO be Phase VIII? or back to Phase IV, since the XA GTHO never made it?
Any thoughts of what phase it should be IF it were to be released?

=)
ChuBBz

P.S. Under 3 weeks for release of the GT!!

The phase 4 does very much exist - even if you discount the 3 red race cars that were built and later sold, 1 true production Phase 4 sedan in Calypo Green left the factory, & that makes it an official model in the records of Ford Production.

The Phase 5/6/7 you talk about weren't Ford Factory vehicles, but built by a company called Homologated Options (weren't they the guys also responsible for the Allan Moffat EB GT).

EB & EL limited editions were only GT, not HO, so I would think to be true to the mark any GTHO that was built based on the BA would need to wear the Phase 5 tag to continue the Ford factory tradition.

Im prety sure that company had paid Ford to use the name so they would count as genuine cars.

This is similar to HDT which is still operating as a small company brought the rights.

Phase Autos brought out the Phase V and VI... AFAIK they didn't pay ford to use the name. The EA 'phase' ..well..need anymore be said?
Technically, if ford wanted to go down that path they would be entitled to use Phase 5.
I would be they don't promote it as such though. The new GT is somewhat different in concept to the old ones... the GTHO (if indeed it does go ahead) will be a different beast I would think

phase 5 IMO, phase 4 was a real car, and most people know about it, I dont think the other 5,6,7 count IMO.

Should be Phase 5. Straight out of Ford, and sold as a BA Phase 5 GTHO. They should continue from where they left off, ie. with the Phase 4's.
