Well after the long weekend, my wife has decided that camping isnt such a bad idea, now we need to find a tent, so was wondering if anyone has opinions to share on tents and what is a good one to get, want something with at least 2 seperate parts so that we can sleep in half keep stuff in the other half or have other people sleep in it if needed.
Melbourne recommended stores would be good also :0)
P.S. - I am about 6 foot tall (182cm) and dont want to have to stoop over all the time.
Thanks,
Jason

DellBoy try to Find an Older 'Terka' tent say 18 x 12 feet or Something With Straight Sides the Newer Ones Have Sloping Sides and You lose usefull Space. Dome tents are Good and Compact for carring and easy to Put Up but aren't really for Tall people. Keep an Eye out for people Selling Stuff because there Sick of camping, some good deals out There, and garage sales are a great source of Bits and Pieces for other Bits..Been There Done That for many years now Still Love it, Although I have A Camper now,I must be Getting Old..
It'sreally a trade-off between what exactly you want to do / how you camp. When mates and myself go, we have a few smaller tents (maybe one for supplies). We don't have giant tents, since we spend bugger all time inside them (sleeping). We can get away with this, since we are largely fair weather campers - if it looks like its going to get really wet, for a long time (i.e. longer than a day), we just go home :)
If your more of a "we're here now, and staying dammit", then a bigger / higher tent is more important.
I'd also recommend taking a big assed tarp with you. Its now standard equipment in our camping outfit - we generally cover the tents and general area in the tarp to protect from sun and super heavy rain as required...
go dome tent i in qld,but a 8 man for around 200 is my best find..
you can find em,the 8man had 2 sections n a middle section..
