In order to make a standard EL 4.0 make 130rwkw what would you need to do to the car? How much would these things cost?

130 at the rear is approx 185 - 190 at the fly.

Hrm... well I don't think I could afford the package that would bring out that sort of power, which brings me to the question..

Starting from a stock EL Fairmont - would the Dev1 kit be worth purchasing?

130rwkw would be fairly easy i would have thought? A friend of mine has an AUII XR6 5spd and that got 144kw to the wheels. All hsa been done is an exhaust and chip.

Exhaust would be a good start, some sort of cold air intake and a chip would surely be getting close to 130.....

Well this is the one that seems most affordable to me:

The entry-level kit - DEV1 - focuses primarily on exhaust flow. The factory exhaust manifold is replaced by fourth generation custom 3>2>1 headers, which then connect to a 2½-inch aluminised mild steel mandrel exhaust. A high-flow cat converter and a pair of straight-through mufflers are fitted to ensure emission and noise compliance.Like all DEV kits, the DEV1 upgrade also includes a set of US-sourced Autolite spark plugs that enhance power in the big Ford six - dyno tests prove it. The final component of the DEV1 upgrade is dyno testing of mixtures, timing and a general assessment.

You want figures? Sure. A healthy EA to AU Falcon six with a DEV1 kit breathes to the tune of up to 112kW at the back wheels (varying depending on the model and driveline). The DEV1 upgrade comes fitted and tuned for AUD$980 and is a great stepping stone for further development...

u sure its still 980??? it says $1190 on the site!!!! dev 1 doesnt include intake mods nemore :(
i think ur better off buying the race series headers (645) then get ur own cat back xaust (250) then an xr8 snorkle (30) and then a wade cam :0 all for un der $1000 should get you verry close if not 130kw at the wheels

Certainly sounds a good price. I paid about $1250 for pacemaker headers, high flow cat, and a 2.5" exhaust with lukey muffler for my old EA. Since JMM also tune your car, I see it as good value...

Well if anyone else can think of a decent setup - including prices, could you outline it in a list? It would be good to figure out what would be the best bang for buck.

Has anyone else used these Autolite spark plugs? Is there anything on par with them or better? What sort of $$ do they set you back?

I'd have to agree. Doesn't seem worth buying the kit for that much. For the same price you can do the same plus cam and get more power.
If you change the cam, you may want to change the convertor.
