What the yanks think about their new GTO
I got this off fordvschevy.com. Sorry about the dodgy cut and paste, I was too lazy to try a better link. Seems opinions are a bit mixed, and not universally positive.

GTO RETURNS! Uh-oh...
My new Motor Trend has in fact confirmed that GM will bring the Monaro over here to be the next Goat. It'll have LS1 power, horses between 350-400. However, there was no mention as to whether they'll change the sheetmetal up. If they don't, I say BOO! If they do, well they better damn well not Pontiactify it and make it ugly as sin...

Obviously GM is too cheap to allow the Pontiac Division the freedom to create a new GTO the right way. So pontiac after considerin makin a GTO on a grand am platform (pontiac fans denied this lol) , their best option is to import a chassis with the right ingredients in place ie: V8 Rear drive.
What a shame considerin companies like Ford are to bring back nameplates such as the GT40 very similar to the original from almost a clean sheet of paper, dodge with the viper like 10 years ago, and GM doesnt respect its Sport division enough to bring a respected model back that was an original Pontiac design without letting the beancounters and penny pinchers screwin it up.
Gotta love cost cutting!
