I am interested to know what percentage of the monthly wage people spend on the car. Only include car payments, Fuel, Insurance and mods spread equally over 12 months on an average.

Fuel maybe $2,500 - $3,000. Insurance is under $400, I think. No repayments. No mods yet (And none coming, given what I'm presently forking out on Santa's behalf so my kids can have a happy childhood surrounded by every bit of expensive crap on the planet. Do you know what a surfboard costs, for a start? About two bloody Crow cams or a decent set of extractors to be precise. If that fat bastard comes down my chimney while I'm awake in few nights I'll insert a surfboard fair into him and stop this Xmas nonsense for good. Anyone noticed that he and Mrs Claus don't have kids?)
Total running costs and repayments on a brand new XR6VCT for 3 years including Fuel up to 25,000 kms per year, Insurance, Rego, Servicing,Motor Club plus 1 new Set of Dunlop SP9000 235/45/17's and a residual payment of $ 13,000 at the end of 3 years.
Approx $4000 fuel (now running gas est. will cost $2500~$3000)
Insurance $500 (cheaper than our 91 Subaru Liberty!)
Servicing $200 (Do most myself)
Repairs $2700 ( Head Gasket done twice due to shoddy first mechanic)
Mods $1500 (Try fitting 6" splits to the front door of an XG , fun job)
Dont think I want to add this up. Previous job I had a company hack EL, didn't cost a cent for me to run. Cost the company heaps (ran through brakes like no-ones business)
I can say around 40-50% of my earnings go to the car i do only work part time though, but yeah for a uni student i spend a sheeeeeeeeet laod for that EF.
**EF_GuY should get a Daihatsu Charade for ecomony reasons, not never ever.......
