Just wondering.

Shortly after I graduated College my buddy Jack said to me in the fall of 1999 hey wanna go take the test for the phone company ?

I said sure why not can't hurt.

5 years later and I am still working for Verizon : -) (Start date Jan 2000)

Tell us about your career and how you got into it.

I'm working for a car dealership in the parts and service department.

we look after 7 Franchises: Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Kia, Suzuki, Landrover and Peugeot.

good thing is I get paided to drove cars all the time e.g 350Z's hehe and go into the workshop and stay clean.

I got into it through an employment agency and have had on the job training

i started washing dishes after school, as i digged kitchens.
that was back in 1989, now after some travelling and working in many wicked a place and visiting 65 countries to date, I am an exec chef in one of the best hotels in Hong Kong supervising 133 chefs and 6 restaurants... if only they knew my "serious studios look into the computer" each day was actually reading all the goss back home through these means....

bring on the nats.. it's time to come home!

I started doing bar work to support my uni studies. Slowly yet surely the bar took over, and now I'm head manager of a new pub in the centre of sydney. Not too shabby for someone who's only 21.

My friends uncle owns the company so about 5 of my mates work there.

I started as a checkout chick. Hated it. Any time I was offered shifts in other departments I jumped at it, until a regular gig came up in Store Systems and I took it.
Then I had to cover someone's holiday relief, then spent a few weeks in other stores doing holiday reliefs there, and now I am Head Systems Operator at the store I started at as a checkout operator.
Of course the business has changed since I first started.
We have nowhere near enough staff to cover the amount of work they want done.
I have 417hrs holidays owing to me because there is no one to cover me.
Two weeks ago I cracked a metatarsal bone in my foot, and when I suggested that they get someone else to take over from me so I could see a doctor, I was told I'd be fine, and to take some panadol.
Everyone wonders why I hate the place so much???

I've been at Pepsi-Cola for 25 years now. I started out working in the quality control lab in production. Then I worked as a merchandiser for 10 years and for the last 7 years I've been driving a truck filling vending machines. Here's me and my pal Mr. Ed.

Well as of yesterday I am unemployed. Gotta love layoffs. Not happy, but I can collect Unemployment for a while.
