ok, ok i couldnt think of a better topic, but anyhow

is it just me, or does wheels magazine just shit?
the new layout is boring, their reviews arent interesting, i would rather have a baby nap when not tired, than waste my time reading it.

the old man buys it, so its something to look at when waiting for street machine, motor, and the ford mag (which took forver! :D)

i was looking at the new one, comparo between magna, XU6 and XR6. well the XR6 pulled a 16.2 at 142km/hr, and weighs 1530kg. My car runs a 15.901 at 140km/hr, and weighs over 1600kg (extra audio gear).

now how the hell does my 157kw fairmont pull a quicker qtr, than a 172kw XR6, both being automatics.

dont wheels know how to stall an engine up, or drive in a straight line. its not a very hard task.

maybe they dropped off the throttle for a few seconds (no, but anyhow) and just dawlded along, or ran it in ECON mode.

wheels have nice pictures of cars, but thats about all, the rest is just PLAIN BORING!

Was the XR6 a Hp or VCT?. If it was the VCT then it weighs over 1650kg, still whatever it is that is a pretty crappy time.:crazy1:

The new wheels format is a shocker in my opinion.

The photos of the cars in MOTOR are far better, not to mention the articles.

If it was between Wheels and MOTOR.

MOTOR would get my vote

was the VCT, so they have the wrong facts already, even so, i would of thought those extra 15kw, would get it into the 15s running side by side with mine.

the XU6 cains! the XR6, and weighs only a lil bit less than the VCT, and has 8kW more
sure the blower works well, but not up high it doesnt, wheels just blows

I think they test it like the WRX!!rev to 6000 ,and let go, watching the car goes sideways for 5 seconds before it pulls:)
To be honest,the only website I like to get topics from is www.nrma.com.au

XR6 HP- 0-100 7.88, 0-400 15.33

XR6 VCT- 0-100 8.07, 0-400 15.59

it's a fact that XR6 VCT is a slowarse, but it's not THAT bad! wheels times suck monkey doodle because they use methods which are "more relevant to the real world" or some crap like that.
