I have here sitting in my lap the November edition of Wheels with a really good comparison between the BA and the VT. Below are the results:
Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo vs. Holden Commodore SS.
XR6T = 4.5 stars, SS = 3.5 stars. Winner = Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo
Ford Fairmont Ghia V8 vs. Holden Calais V8.
Ghia = 4.5 stars, Calais = 3.5 stars. Winner = Ford Fairmont Ghia V8
Ford Falcon XR6 N/A vs. Holden Commodore S S/Charged.
XR6 = 4 stars, S = 3.5 stars. Winner = Ford Falcone XR6 N/A
Ford Falcon XT vs. Holden Commodore Executive.
XT = 4.5 stars, Executive = 3 stars. Winner = Ford Falcon XT
Hahha thats right DK.. Oh and that reminds me of something further. The VY is not in running for COTY. They claim it's not new enough. We all knew that straight away and it took them a month. hahahahahha! The contenders left are below:
BMW 7 Series
Ford BA Falcon
Ford Focus
Holden Monaro
Honda Jazz
Honda CR-V
Hyundai Getz
Hyundai Tiburon
Lexus ES300
Mazda 6
Mercedes-Benz CLK
Mercedes-Benz E-class
Mercedes-Benz SL
Mini
Peugeot 206CC
Peugeot 307
Range Rover
Renault Clio
Renault Laguna
Saab 9-3
Suburu Forester
Toyota Camry
Volkswagen Polo
All of a sudden the BA is looking more and more like a COTY winner. :s4
And even a "dark horse" like the SL Roadster isn't out of the question! Going on the last few years, the actual criteria for winning COTY has been questionable, in both definition and implementation!

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
To my mind, COTY is between Mazda6 and BA. BA has its 'utilisation of resources' deficiency, but value for money is a strong point. The SL isn't nearly as revolutionary as the '99 S Class was.
